Most people today are magnesium deficient as that mineral is not as present in our food as it once was. This is because the soil of our agricultural lands has been depleted through the practice of monoculture and the overuse of chemicals.

Magnesium is known as the ‘miracle mineral’ because it regulates over 300 functions in the body including our heartbeat, muscles, and hormones. It’s estimated that a whopping 75% of the population is deficient in magnesium. Inadequate amounts of the mineral may trigger 22 medical conditions including anxiety and diabetes. Common signs of magnesium deficiency include muscle twitches, tremors, cramps, and insomnia.

The problem with adding magnesium to water is that, depending on the form, it can have limited bioavailability. It also adds a bitter taste to water which is why you don’t see any commercially available waters or water systems alkalizing with magnesium only. However, AquaLiv Water tastes so good we are able to sacrifice a small percentage of that great taste and use magnesium only. We also use a form of magnesium that doesn’t dissolve in water. It interacts with the naturally present hydrogen ions in water to release elemental magnesium, the most bioavailable form.
